In the Stone Industry there are several process and we can summarize them in a brief list of applications. We begin with the extraction of the stone from the Quarry. The extraction can be done in different ways, with the diamond wire, with the chain saw or in some cases with drilling.
Then the extracted block must be squared in order to facilitate an easy trasportation in the workshops for the next working phases. During this phase the block is processed with machines such as the Stationary machines.
When the block is squared it needs to be cut to obtain single slabs; if it is marble it will be cut using a frame saw machine or, if it is granite, a multiwire machine.
Some other applications request profiled blocks for architectural desing or other unconventional shapes. In this case a profiling machine is used to obtain special designs such as shells for column coating.
Extraction of the stone in the Quarry
The extraction can be done in different ways, with the diamond wire or with the chain saw or in some cases with drilling machines.
There are many kind of quarries, up in the mountain, open cast quarries, pit quarries or gallery quarries, but in all af them a good equipment can reduce the workign time and increase the safety level.
Our diamond wires are the faster you can find in the market and the attention for all quality aspects are a guarantee of the maximum safety you can have.
Our sintered or electroplated diamond wires are produced selecting high quality raw materials and a constant and careful control assures the highest quality product you've ever seen.
After the extraction the block needs to be "squared" for transportation or to be cut in the Gang Saw Blade Machine.
There are two different machines capable of making this process; a standard quarry machine or a more stable and more efficient Stationary Machine.
Profiling - You can have the desired shape
Trought this process you can obtain the desired shape from the block, you can create curved slabs like shells for columns or other architectural shapes.
At this stage it is very important to use a very sharp diamond wire in order to not lose the allignement of the wire with the cut and maintan the correct desired shape.
Another very important aspect is to use a resistant diamond wire in order to and avoid breakages and the consequential loss of time during the cut.
When the slabs are used to cover a skyscrapers facade, a lift's interior or to decorate a yatch you can use a splitting machine to reduce the weight of the slab.
A ligth and resistant material is attached on both sides of the slab and a diamond wire splits the slab in two. Each new slab is ligther and can be used for these special works.
Splitting - You can reduce the slabs weight
Multiwire - To cut slabs of Granite
This new application for stone and granite replaces the old frame grit machines allowing to reduce the long processing times. The advanteges that are obtained are speed, flexibility and energy savings.
Diamond Pauber has developed various typees of wire for this machine and the most significant is the TWIST® diamond wire.
The Twist diamond beads are monolithic and produced using only Cobalt and Diamond.
