Stone Industry

From elegant architectural designs to timeless sculptures, the beauty and versatility of the natural stone has become a cultural symbol of tradition and refined taste.

Diamond wire cutting has made these projects possible. The invention of diamond wire has been a revolution for stone extraction, as opposed to the high-risk, counterproductive and expensive techniques of the past.

The use of diamond wire in the stone industry has upgraded the extraction processes by shortening excavation times and ensuring a better product quality, preventing surface ruptures and therefore reducing extractive waste.

Due to the proximity with the Carrara quarries, Diamond Pauber has been a pioneer in manufacturing diamond wires for marble extraction and has ever since applied its expertise to the cutting of any natural stone, from limestones to granites.

Providing its customers with a wide range of product choices, Diamond Pauber places particular attention to the specific requirements of each natural stone: from electroplated to sintered diamond wires, cutting with or without water, Diamond Pauber has always the cutting solution for your needs.

Quarry
Quarry Extraction

Up in the mountains you can find different kinds of quarries that can be labeled as open cast, open-air pit or gallery. The choice of having a reliable equipment increases the safety on the job and reduces labor time.

Our diamond wires have proven to be faster and safer than any other product, thanks to our patented technologies.

Oriented Crystals® is a patented technique in which diamonds are applied to the bead with a distinct orientation. This application increases the number of cutting edges and the speed of the bead.

SHX assembly protects the internal steel rope from the abrasive action of the concrete dust and allows to use the diamond wire until the complete wearing of the beads.

EMP Engineered Manufacturing Procedure allows a strong quality control, made by extremely experienced technicians on every step of production to deliver a product worth the brand legacy.

Squarring
Block Squaring

The next step is to square the extracted block, usually done either with a standard quarry machine or a stationary machine, the latter being more stable seems to be the most efficient choice.

This procedure makes the transportation easier and prepares the blocks to be processed with a gangsaw blade machine.

Profiling
Profiling

Through this process you can obtain various shapes from a block, the wires move in a controlled path on multiple axes and carve architectural shapes.

A fundamental aspect is the choice of a very sharp diamond wire, capable of maintaining the alignment with the cut resulting in a clean and professional craft.

Another important aspect is choosing a more resistant diamond wire to avoid breakages and the consequential loss of time during the cut.

Splitting

When slabs are used to cover a skyscrapers façade, lift's interior or to decorate a yacht, stone manufacturers use a splitting machine to reduce the thickness of the slab making it thinner and lighter.

A light and resistant material is attached on both sides of the slab while a diamond wire splits the slab in two, each resulting lighter and ready to be used for special applications that require lighter materials.

GangSawBlades
Gang Saw Blades for Marble

A traditional process to obtain slabs from a block of marble, limestone, or calcareous stone.

Diamond Pauber has created different types of diamond segments, from the traditional sintered graphite to the most modern and efficient one integrating the DIM® technology (Diamond Injection Molding).

The diamond segments can be mounted on steel carbon of 2,5mm 3,0mm and 3,5mm thick or on special stainless steel to avoid the staining of the material with rust.

We also produce different segments with a steel thickness of 1,8 and 2,0mm.
